Undead Labs and Microsoft Studios has released some shocking news about the success of their new game, “State of Decay”.  The week after its June 5th release, “State of Decay” has surpassed 500,000 paid downloads.  This huge achievement makes, “State of Decay” the fastest selling original game ever on Xbox Live Arcade.

“State of Decay” is an innovative zombie survival game offering a unique spin of open world action, strategy and roleplaying.  You can download the free trial or purchase the full game for 1600 Microsoft Points from the Xbox Live Marketplace today.

Undead Labs, a Seattle-based development firm, has been working hard since the release rolling out updates to the game.  The first title update has already been released and the second title update is in the final certification process as we speak.  Undead Labs works directly with the game’s players through their Twitter and Facebook pages, as well as the official “State of Decay” forums.  The content of the the title updates is determined directly from player’s feedback of the game.

Playstation, Playstation 4, Tampa, Xbox, Xbox One, Microsoft

Yesterday, Microsoft revealed its long awaited Xbox One console.  This will be Microsoft’s third generation console.

The Xbox One mixes an advanced technical architecture with an all new design in attempts to give users a personalized experience that will respond instantly to gesture and voice commands.

The new, black, and sleek Xbox One console features a revamped Xbox logo, 5 billion transistors, 8 GB of RAM, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi direct, a Blu-Ray drive and a 64- bit architecture.  It also features a 1080P HD RGB camera and a brand new redesigned gaming controller.

The Xbox One will not be backwards compatible; however, Microsoft did say they will continue to support the Xbox 360.  Even though we haven’t heard anything yet as far as pricing goes, we do know the Xbox One will be released later this year.

Xbox One will also sync its operating system to the Windows kernel in just such a way to enable multitasking.  At its core, the Xbox One is meant to give the consumer a new level of personalized control over their entire  home entertainment experience, including games, TV, movies and music.

The Xbox One will also feature built in voice recognition system.  Just by telling your Xbox One “Xbox One”, Your Xbox will power on without the need to log in or wait for software updates.

As far as which console will out shine the other, we can’t predict the future; however, I don’t believe neither Xbox nor PlayStation is going anywhere anytime in the near future.

News of the next generation Microsoft Xbox console release! With all the rumors, We may have the answers you are looking for!

Next Generation, Console, Xbox Mini, Tampa, Microsoft, Xbox

There has been a lot of buzz going around rumoring that the next Microsoft Xbox console  will have some kind of “always-online” digital rights management (DRM) required on the system.  VGLeaks has now released a new report in attempts to debunk these rumors.

The new report claims that Microsoft is actually planning yo release to different Xbox consoles simultaneously.  The plan is to actually release the next generation Xbox and an “Xbox Mini”.  The “Xbox Mini” would have many of the features that have been suggested to end up on Microsoft;s next consoles by the gamer community.  Some of these rumored features are things like the “always-online” requirement, backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games, and no disc drive.

A completely disc-less Xbox consoles was first reported by the British-based gaming website MCV early in March, but it appeared to be a;; but thrown out as a rumor.   The release of such a console would confirm another report by Paul Thurrot, a veteran Microsoft watcher, that claimed that Microsoft has been working on at least two other versions of a new Xbox console in attempts to create a leaner and chaper device to compete with something like the Apple TV.
